Cheshire Foot Clinic
Making pain relief a priority
Our feet bear our weight and the impact of any sporting activities throughout our lives’, so it is hardly surprising that the joints of our feet suffer from wear and tear (osteoarthritis). Osteoarthritis can follow overuse, injury or ageing. It can affect any of our joints but in the foot it most commonly affects the big toe joint (bunion) ankle and sometimes the mid part of the foot.
If you think you have osteroarthritis and it is painful or reduces your ability to carry out any of your chosen activities an assessment with one of our Podiatrists may help.
They can:
- Give you advice on suitable footwear to support your feet
- Prescribe orthotics to cradle the foot
- Pain relief
- Mobilisation
- Exercise rehabilitation
- Give corticosteroid injections to provide longer term relief from pain and inflammation
- Help with surgical referral where necessary.
Their treatment can help improve your comfort.
