Forefoot pain has many different causes.

Our feet are complex structures and diagnosing your problem correctly straight away will help you to start your recovery that is why we always give you a full Assessment on your first visit to the clinic and then set up a treatment plan specifically for you.

Causes of forefoot pain which we often diagnose in clinic include:

  • Fracture
  • Stress Fracture
  • Morton’s Neuroma
  • Sesamoiditis
  • Hallux Valgus (Bunion)
  • Hallux Rigidus
  • Primary Metatarsalgia
  • Stress Fracture
  • Plantar Plate Tear
  • Instability
  • Inflammatory/ Systemic conditions:
  • Gout
  • Arthritis(Osteoarthritis and other arthritic conditions)
  • Muscular damage

Our podiatrists can assess, diagnose and treat your forefoot pain.

They can:

  • diagnose or advice what may be causing it
  • refer for X-Ray, Ultrasound and MRI scans if further investigation is required
  • advise you on the best footwear to help you,
  • strap/pad and show you how to strap /pad your foot to relieve your symptoms
  • prescribe orthotics to support your foot and often resolve the issue
  • advise on medication and when you may/may not need surgery
